60 Sec Hot Brewed Aeropress

aeropress hot brew recipe

Drip machines can take up to 15 minutes or even 45 if not cleaned regularly. A French press might take up to 5 minutes, and pour-over often requires 5 minutes. And going to the coffee shop? Well, that could take all morning!

However, using the AeroPress, you can get an incredible-tasting cup of coffee in just 60 seconds.

Brewing Device: AeroPress Original

Recommended Roast: All of them! Although, starting with Brazil is a great choice.

Grind Size: Medium

Coffee: 15g

Water: 250g at 94°C (201°F)

Place the plunger in the AeroPress and press slightly, then pull up about 1/4 – 1/2 inch to create a vacuum and prevent water leakage. Brew for 60 seconds. Slowly depress the plunger until the hissing stops.
NOTE: 60 Seconds is a baseline time. Some roasts will requuire more time. For instance lighter roasts like our Ugandan and Ethiopian tend towards to the 3 minute brew time. Preference plays a huge role in how long you brew. If it’s a little weak give it a little more time next time.

Additionally you can go up to 18 grams of coffee to get a little more kick to your brew.

Think of this as you do cooking. A recipe is your starting point, from there it’s up to you. If you are having issues or would like help simply reach out and I’ll be more than happy to help.

oh… and let it cool a bit before enjoying!
